These are applied to the doors of communal spaces (auditoriums, laboratories, classrooms, meeting rooms and dining rooms) and are used to open the doors.

These are applied/embedded in the self-service printing and copying system equipment and are used to access the equipment.

What do the colors mean when I swipe my Iscte card in an RFID card reader?

- Student attendance readers – These readers are located in classrooms, auditoriums and laboratories and are used to record students’ attendance at lessons.
- Green – Attendance is recorded.
- Red – Attendance is not recorded. The student must check that the card is associated and active.
- Room access readers – These readers are located outside classrooms, auditoriums and laboratories and are used to open doors.
- Green/Yellow – Authorized access. The door should open.
- Red – Unauthorized access. The user must check that the card is associated and active.
I’m an external teacher. How do I get the Iscte card to use when opening classroom doors?

I don’t have an Iscte student card. What should I do?

Students must apply for an Iscte student card at a CGD branch.
I don’t have/lost an Iscte card. How can I get a new card?

I’ve been given a service card. How long is the card valid for?

Answer/Solution: The card is temporary. You should go to a CGD branch to regularize the situation.
Which doors can I open with the Iscte card?

Do I have to swipe my card in the RFID student attendance reader in class?
Target Audience: Iscte-IUL Students.
Answer/Solution:
- Yes, so that your class attendance can be counted.
- For class attendance to be counted correctly, the card must be swiped at the reader within the following period: 10 minutes before the start of the lesson until 10 minutes before the end of the lesson.
In other words:
- In a class from 8:00 to 9:30, the card must be swiped at the reader from 7:50 to 9:19;
- In a class from 9:30 to 11:00, the card must be swiped at the reader from 9:20 to 10:49.
- If the RFID reader’s LED turns green or yellow, the presence has been correctly recorded.
- If the LED turns red, the presence has not been correctly recorded.
Further Information: the RFID reader is located inside the classroom.
I’ve been given an Iscte card and it’s already registered in the system. How long does it take to become active?

Answer/Solution: As a rule, the Iscte card becomes active, i.e. can be used, after 5 minutes. If this doesn’t happen, there will be a new activation during the night.

CGD gave me a service card (not personalized) and it doesn’t work. How can I solve the problem?

- You should contact IT Helpdesk via the usual channels to request that the service card be associated with your user.
Additional Information: The door opening readers (placed outside the rooms) turn red, as do the attendance readers (placed inside the rooms).
