The Iscte wireless network service covers most of the campus and is accessible through the SSID eduroam.
Eduroam (education roaming) is an international Wi-Fi access service designed for educational and research institutions:
- Available in over 100 countries;
- Uses secure authentication and encryption;
- Enables automatic access at other participating institutions.
1. Setup Eduroam
On newer devices, eduroam configuration is automatic by simply entering the Iscte´s username and password.
1. Go to the Wi-Fi settings.
2. Choose the “Eduroam” network.
3. Enter your Iscte’s username and password.
- If necessary, set the generic wireless network configuration parameters with the values shown below:
- Security: WPA/WPA2/WPA3-Enterprise
- Type of EAP Method: PEAP ou TTLS
- Phase 2 Authentication: MSCHAPv2
- CA Certificate: Não Validar/No
- User certificates: Unspecified
- Username/Identity: User login like xxnes@iscte-iul.pt
- Anonymous identity:
- Domain puts (iscte-iul.pt)
- Password: Password associated to the Iscte account
- If necessary, set the generic wireless network configuration parameters with the values shown below:

- Eduroam (Education Roaming) is a mobility service developed for the international education and research community.
- This service guarantees secure Internet access to students, faculty, researchers and institutional staff, via the wireless network of their home institution or any affiliated institution they are visiting.
- This means that whether at their home institution or visiting other institutions, users have secure access with their usual login.
- Eduroam is uninterrupted and secure Wi-Fi access worldwide.
- In Portugal, the integration in the eduroam network is guaranteed to all institutions that have a connection to the RCTS network, as is the case of Iscte.
