What is Microsoft Copilot for Education?

Microsoft Copilot for Education is a specialized version of Microsoft Copilot designed to support schools, teachers, and students, integrated directly into Microsoft 365 Education.
It works within applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, OneNote, Outlook, and Forms, offering AI assistance for teaching, learning, and school management.

- Learning Accelerators: tools such as Reading Progress, Speaker Progress, Math Coach, etc., to track student progress.
Can I use Azure for Students without installing anything?
Yes. You can use, for example:
- Azure Portal online
- Azure Cloud Shell
- Azure Notebooks
- Azure OpenAI (within the limits of the offer)
Why did I receive a bill even though I am a student?
Microsoft sends informative invoices showing monthly usage, even if there is no payment to be made. Students do not need to pay—these are consumption reports.
Can I create Windows 10 or Windows 11 virtual machines?
Yes. Windows 10 and 11 VMs are included in the offer and do not require an additional license.
What products and tools are included?
The offer includes various useful software programs for students, such as:

For what purposes can I use MAXQDA licensed by Iscte?
- It is restricted to academic research purposes at Iscte – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa.
- It may only be used by students, staff, or faculty of Iscte – Lisbon University Institute.
- Commercial or other non-academic use is prohibited, including, without limitation, use by or on behalf of any other institution or entity for compensation or where such institution or entity would otherwise purchase or use a non-academic subscription. For greater clarity, academic subscriptions may not be used by or on behalf of government entities other than Iscte – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa.
- Student feedback, employee feedback, or any other purpose intended to benefit Iscte – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa is not considered Academic Research.
Is the student version sufficient for a dissertation?
It depends on the size of the database:
- If you have few observations (e.g., annual or quarterly series), the Lite version may suffice.
- For large databases (daily, high frequency), the University Edition or a full license is recommended.
Can I install it on more than one computer?
No. The student license only allows installation on one computer and one user.
How long does the student license last?
Student Lite: 1 year after ordering.
University Edition: 6 months after registration.
