Create Teams and Channels in Microsoft Teams

To create teams and channels, first create the team in the ‘Teams’ tab by clicking on ‘Add or create team’ and then on ‘Create team’. After creating the team, select the three dots (…) next to the team name and choose ‘Add channel’ to create additional channels, where you can set the name, description, and type (standard or private).

  1. Go to the “Teams” tab in the left panel and click “Add or create Team“.
  2. Select “Create team“.
  3. You can create the team from a template or from scratch. If starting from scratch, choose the team type (e.g. Private, Public or for the entire organisation).
  4. Give the team a name and an optional description.
  5. Select “Create“.
