Rules of the Pedagogical Monitoring Survey

PT

The pedagogical monitoring survey aims to continuously monitor and improve the pedagogical process at ISCTE by collecting students’ opinions and feedback on the course, the Curricular Units (CUs) and the respective teachers.

The results of this survey are a valuable source of information for implementing continuous actions to improve the quality of teaching at Iscte. For these improvements to take place, the involvement and participation of students in this survey is essential.

Everyone is encouraged to take part. By dedicating just a few minutes to this task, students can make a significant contribution to the continuous improvement of the quality of teaching at Iscte and can benefit from these improvements throughout their course!

Rules of the pedagogical monitoring survey (end of semester / end of classes of each Curricular Unit):

1. The anonymity associated with completing the survey is fully guaranteed and there is no technical possibility of identifying students

2. Bearing in mind the importance of the involvement and accountability of students in the quality of teaching and the relevance of these surveys to the external evaluation processes required by the legislation in force, failure to take part in the pedagogical monitoring survey will imply that students’ access to their “Curriculum” on Fénix+ will be temporarily blocked until they have completed it.

3. According to Iscte’s Code of Academic Conduct (Article 8, point f), students must “Respond in good time to all institutional surveys that Iscte has to apply within the scope of both its quality assurance system and the requirements of national and international certification and accreditation agencies”.

4. There are two ways of participating in the pedagogical monitoring survey: by completing the survey during the respective response periods or by submitting the “Do not answer” option during the response period.

5. The survey response period for each course/teacher(s) begins when the last 20% of the teaching period for each course has been reached. For example, if the teaching period is 100 days, the student can start responding from the 80th day; if the teaching period is 50 days, the student can start responding from the 40th day.

6. When at least 90% of the lessons for a given course have taken place and the student has not yet answered the survey, access to the “Curriculum” in Fénix+ is temporarily blocked. This access will be restored automatically as soon as all the missing surveys have been completed (see point 5 above).

7. Once the overall survey response collection period has ended at the end of the semester, the block will be automatically lifted, even in situations where the student has not participated.

8. All blocks of the survey must be answered to avoid the temporary blocking of access to the “Curriculum” – including the blocks for courses not attended or the blocks for lecturers with whom the students didn’t have any contact by choosing the “I did not attend classes” option.

9. A The final submission of the survey is only possible after the students have answered the general block of the survey, the survey blocks of all the courses they are enrolled in and at least one teacher’s block in each course.
